Mike Matusow and his Mouth

Mike Matusow also known as Mike “The Mouth” ibecause he likes to talks a lot at tables, he is one of the most famous poker players. It’s easy to find his face in television talking about poker or giving lessons to some players. Unlike many players who are well known because the winnings in cash games, heads-pi or tournaments, Mike Matusow has got the world attention cause his behaviour at the tables, sometimes quite eccentric.

He worked in the family companiy until the end of the 80′s, he was born in Los Angeles where he started to play poker and beoame a rounder. He won the $3,000 No Limit Hold’em event in 1999 World Series of Poker, getting his pinnacle moment of his career. He reached the final table of the Main Event of the WSOP in 2001 and Mike MAtusow won a brecelet in 2002 playing Omaha 8 or better. Along his long career he was and he is one of the most hated players around the poker circuit, he has been criticized tons of times for his behaviours, mnay players have an love and hate relationship with The Mouth, but in the end he won about $6,500,000 only in tournament events. If you see him at the table you istantly recognize him, his voice, his behaviour seems almost fake sometimes. Most of the time is impossible to think that a poerson can act like he did, but when you think about other “crazy” players like Tony G or Phil Hellmuth, you can understand that. I think these player has a rolo in the poker system, they have a character to bring on. It’s like to be an actor,  when you choose your character you can’t leave it easily.
In 2008 Mike Matusow cashed in half dozen events of the World Seies of Poker including the Main Event. Mike is one of the mian characters that played in “Poker After Dark”. Like others super stars of poker, Mike Matusow is part of FullTilt Poker, where he plays almost every day.
