Cycalona Gowen is popularly known today as Clonie. The name Cycalona, got its inspiration due to reason that she was born during a Powerful Cyclone. Clonie was born in Oklahoma on 11/6/1971. She grew up in Kiowa, Oklahoma where she spent her early days. She pursued high school in Coriscana, Texas. At high school, Clonie was a member of the state championship basketball team. She was also ranked high in athletics wherein she came 7th in the high jump track and field event. That being said, it doesn’t stop there. At 15, Cycalona went on to be crowned Miss Teen McAlester (Oklahoma).
Although Clonie Gowen now lives in Sachse, about 45 minutes from downtown Dallas, it all began for Clonie when she used to go on weekend gambling trips to Shreveport and Bossier in Louisiana which is about a 3 hour drive from Dallas. She used to be making a few 100 dollars a week back then. The pursuit to succeed continued further and that led her all the way to what she is today. In the year 2003 she got into the Texas Hold’ Em history books as she won World Poker Tour Ladies’ Night beating big names like Kathy Liebert and Jennifer Harman. Surprisingly, this was a day after she finished in the top ten lists of the WPT Costa Rica Classic event. Besides these she has won twice on NBC’s Poker after Dark event, raking in a massive $240,000. Her biggest cash gain ever was when she went all out to win the Bellagio Cup No Limit Hold’em tournament for a whopping $438,000.She has also cashed in significantly through various other poker tournaments.
Clonie has 2 children these days and lives in Sachse. She is also rated as one of the top ten hottest poker babes around. One cannot forget the fact that she was Miss Teen once. But like her daughter says “This is my mom, there’s nothing cool about her, mom’s not cool”. She means business. That is so right. According to Clonie, Men do not give enough credit to women in poker and she feels that’s her chance to cash in taking them by surprise. Clonnie enjoys chatting and playing poker in her free time.
