7 Card Stud: Different Hands

Published on February 16, 2011 by kkroz   ·   No Comments

There are many good starting hands in this game but the one all the Stud players dream about is to be “rolled up”. What does that means? It’s very easy it means that you got  three-of-a-kind with the 3 cards that the dealer gave you. Think about getting three aces. It’s obviously rare for this hands to happen, but if occurs take care about your tells and your raises cause you have just got a monster.

Different Starting Hands

In 7 Card Stud in the dealer gave you a high Pair, 3 to a flush, concealed pair pr simply 3 sequences cards like 567 are very good hands to starting with. If you got 2 cards to a flush or 3 cards to a straight it’s important to understand how many outs you got and most important how many outs are on the tables dealt to the other players.
Look the example if you got cards 3d Qd down and card 4d up, you are starting with a decent hand if nobody at the table got a diamond, in the other hand if there are 2 or 4 Diamonds on the table your odds falling down totally so it’s better to fold the hand. More or less works the same way if you have cards like 7c 9hdown and card 8s up, so you got a straight draw. To hit the straight you need Jack , fives, sixes or tens. So look around in order to understand how many of these cards are in the hands of your opponent.
Other pretty good hands, but not excellent are 3 high cards like Ace, King, Jack or Jack Queen, Ace. If some player raise a good tip is to fold this hand also if it seems good, it is not. But, if nobody raise you can complete the “bring in” and see if you got luck with the 4th card. If you hit anHigh Pair your hand could be become good or maybe you can improve your draw. So, the most important thing with the starting hands is to calculate how many outs for your project are just on the table.
