Annie Duke is a professional poker player with a string of wins to her credit. Among her wins are a 2004 World Series of Poker bracelet, $2000 from the Omaha Hi-Lo Split 8 or Better Event and $200,000 for winning the 2004 World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions. Most recently, she’s taken home the title of the 2010 National Heads-Up Poker Champion along with a prize of $500,000.

Personal Life

Annie Duke was born Annie Lederer on September 13th, 1965 in Concord, New Hampshire to Rhoda and Richard Lederer. Her passion for poker goes back to her childhood where poker was always the game of choice at home. Her brother Howard Lederer, shared her enthusiasm for the game and went on to become a poker professional as well.
Annie attended Columbia University where she majored in English and Psychology, and was then granted a fellowship to graduate school in the University of Pennsylvania. She dropped out of school in 1992 and married Ben Duke, a fellow university student. After moving to Ben’s hometown of Concord, Montana, she started playing poker at the card rooms in Billings, Montana. Her brother Howard, already a professional poker player, became her mentor and helped her with her game financially.
In 1994, Annie and Ben moved to Las Vegas so that Annie could play poker professionally. They divorced in 2004 and Annie moved with her four children to Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, California.

Professional Life and Wins

After playing in the card rooms of Billings, Montana, Annie moved to Las Vegas to compete professionally in poker. She finished 10th place in the 2000 World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event – one position short of the final table. She was eight months pregnant with her third child at the time.
In the 2004 World Series of Poker, Annie won her first WSOP bracelet in the Omaha Hi-Lo Split event and again that year she beat several poker greats including her brother Howard for first place (he landed third) in the winner-take-all- invitation-only World Series of Poker Tournament of Championship. Annie won a grand total of 2 million dollars.
In the 2010 NBC National Heads Up Poker Championship, Annie Duke won the title and took home $500,000.

Besides playing poker, Annie Duke is a spokesperson for UltimateBet, an online real-time casino software. She writes and speaks about poker and its related organizations. She has also written an autobiography called, How I Raised,Folded, Bluffed, Flirted,Cursed and Won Millions at The World Series of Poker.

Liz Lieu is number 2 on the list, and I spend time debating between her and Chantel for the number 1 spot. It’s no surprise that Jennicide is the most popular female poker player on the curcuit. With he stunning good looks and fanastic poker skill’s, Jennicide is always one the male fans favourites.

Jennicide isn’t only a one trick pony either. Her online stats are very impressive as well. Finishing 4th in a massive field of 5,699 in a $200 buy-in tournament on Pokerstars for a nice $44,452. This was only 2 years after her starting to play poker. Jennicide started play $5 buy-ins and quickly worked her way upto the big buy ins. She has already cleared over $125,000 in online winnings, which suggest she doesn’t just rely on her stunning good looks.

Although Vanessa was not in my selection I have to admit this girl is good looking. Her poker isn’t bad either. Known as Lady Maverick in the poker community, she has been one of the best known lady players for a few years now. Mainly because of the large male following.

Venessa has also had a bit of success in her short poker career. Taking home more than $300,000 in winnings in that last few years.
